ALEXANDER
WINS AT VENTURA RACEWAY
(MARCH
16, 2008) --- Gardena's Greg Alexander
took home the $1,000.00 first-place prize after he
drove the NNJFI Racing / Barnes Oil Systems #22A
Maxim to a 30-lap victory Saturday night at the
Ventura Raceway.
Alexander, who is just 18 years old, is a former mechanic for open-wheel star Cory Kruseman and it appeared that some of Kruseman's Ventura magic rubbed off. Eric Severson came out of a wild scramble to lead the early going in the Sprint Car feature, but Alexander later nosed ahead and stayed in front. The win came in only Alexander's seventh race at Ventura.
The victory marked the first feature win for the
young driver as he starts his rookie season with
the Ventura Racing Association (VRA) Sprint Cars. |
